You know, GW is a hobby. The time spent in doing things you like shouldn't matter that much.
Because anyone likes grinding for Kurzick/Luxon...

Apart from being quick, DTSC was actually fun. It's actually more fun now (esp. as smiter), just slower than h/h currently because of times involved going LFG and some expected fails while people adjust.

On a double K faction weekend, forget understanding and being nice, I'm taking h/h, which is exactly not what the "gw is a team game" crowd should want. Especially as that team consists of 4 necromancers, making it as gimmicky as 600.

I don't agree with this ... that time doesn't matter ...
first of all time is money
I was doing foundry with 8 people (no heroes or henchies...) like everybody knows foundry is in the elite area of doa (domain of anguish).
and it took us about 3-4 hours to complete this single mission.
You know how long this is, for 1 mission... A mission could take 2 hours at most, but not any longer in my opinion

You have a choice. You can save 10 mins and go for 600/Smite or do it balanced. The didn't take your freedom of choice away, they just made so that there wasn't one obvious (excessive) choice.

You know, I wish I was rich. I can either patent a brilliant invention or rob a bank. Robbing a bank is easier and saves time, yet, you know what you would choose.

Don't like it? Don't do it. You have this freedom of choice as well. Doing hours of monkey business looking at the same mobs falling like flies is grinding anyway.

So, keep doing it, or go for the next gimmick. A couple of minutes more won't matter if you're actually having fun. Anet chose not to allow speed clears to be so quick, since they designed a game and meant it to be played in some other way. Adapt.

Those Necromancers are playing pretty much the roles Anet expects to find in a team (minions in the fronline, damage, healing), so they can accept it. If anything, is the Necromancer versatility to be problematic, not their builds.

I'll keep my comments to this update short since Guild Wars is taking up less of my time lately.

The nerfs to SF, 600/smite and Obby Flesh were decent, but should have and could have been done 5 months ago.
The various buffs to Ritualist and Warrior aren't enough to compensate the wait.

This update (along with last month's) did not meet my standards. Hopefully the next PvE and PvP skill update will be before the end of August.

Edit: Also, in regard to the Login announcement "February 25, 2010: Game updated!"

The fact that something common as a skill update, that should be done on a regular bimonthly basis, now has it's own login announcement is both ridiculous and laughable.

This update didnt change anything really. People are still doing doasc with SF, kinda sad 5 months to do this and all you really seem to nerf is UW...

this is true. The whiners will still be whining about SF. Although, even though I think this new sf is oped (if not more oped) then the old sf, I think it is more balanced.

Am I the only one who finds it hilarious that there's more people bitching and moaning ABOUT "SF whiners" than there are whiners they talk about?

Well done anet completed and update in 6 months, that's half a year. By their schedule we should have had another content update now let alone a very overdue skillbalance of any sort.

I think it's a good thing, actually. There are still loads of players who don't know wtf the wiki is, who only notice an update and then find that their skills have changed.

It's just some extra communication, something players have whined about for a long time.

They changed these skills on the weekend that I was hoping to max Kurz title.. Why couldn't they have this weekend last week!?!?! Grrrrrrr...
It is as if to point and laugh at us: look at the poor dtsc bums and their double weekend, they don't know what to do now!
Not happy... I think I am going to forgo the Kurz title for now, I already have luxon, until someone figures out how to make it fun and fast again.
Two thumbs way down.

I loled. Do you really think if some class (paragons) has only one build it is ok?

I don't see anything wrong with it. Why should a log in announcement with a link to the changes be considered ridiculous?

Because when you need to announce that a skill update is finally here in game, there's something wrong with that. If it came every/two month(s), then I'm sure that wouldn't be there.

Because it gives impression of like 'HEY LOOK AT US WE FINALLY UPDATED OUR GAME IN AGES' The players already know that this update was supposed to be here several months ago and now they are acting like it's something godlike and a answer to our problems.

Or they put it there for players who dont spend their days e-peening on guru and dont check the GW site and are casual, or maybe for people who haven't played in a while, so now everyone can know that the game got updated. I wish they would have had this in the last 3 years actually because I never knew Guild Wars had a website or Guild Wars Guru existed. Wish I would have, would have gotten more /chuckles in real life that way.

Giving notice of a game update in the game is not ridiculous. It improves communication for those who don't know about the update for whatever reason (/wiki is HARD). If there were update announcements from the start, would you be scoffing at them? Not all players are registered at Guru or any fan site.
